What must be done by 1:00 PM
By 1:00 PM on a weekday (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays), all of the following must be true:
- Eligible product: the item offers the Overnight tier.
- Order placed: size, quantity and options confirmed.
- Artwork approved: the file has been checked and approved as print-ready.
- Payment cleared: paid in full (under R5,000) or 65% deposit cleared (R5,000 and above).
If any one of these happens after 1:00 PM, the job moves to the next night's run.
Why the cutoff is at 1:00 PM
An overnight run needs set-up time. Files are prepared for the press, jobs are grouped by material and finish, and materials are loaded during the afternoon. A cutoff after lunch leaves enough time to do that properly before production starts. Late additions risk delaying everything else in the run, which is why the cutoff is firm.
A practical timeline
- Before 10:00: finalise your artwork and export a print-ready PDF.
- By 11:00: order online, upload the file and pay by card.
- 11:00–12:30: we check the artwork. If something needs fixing, you still have time to send a correction.
- 1:00 PM: cutoff. Your job is in tonight's run.
- Next working morning from 8:30: collect in Rivonia, or the courier collects.
Ordering at 12:45 with artwork that has never been checked leaves no room for a single correction. The earlier you are in, the safer your slot.
Common reasons jobs miss the cutoff
- An EFT was sent before 1:00 PM but had not reflected by then. Card payment via Yoco confirms immediately.
- Artwork was uploaded in the wrong size or without bleed and the fix came back after 1:00 PM.
- The order was over R5,000 and the deposit had not cleared.
- The product chosen is not overnight-eligible.
- Several people needed to sign off the proof and approval came late.
If your job does miss, it goes into the next run. You can also change to a different tier. See Artwork Approval for Overnight Jobs and Paying for Fast-Track Orders.
What the cutoff does not cover
The cutoff relates to production only. Courier transit is arranged and quoted separately and is added after the job is ready. And overnight remains a priority attempt: on a heavy night, or for a complex job, timing can slip, and we will tell you. Full timing rules are on Turnaround and Cutoffs.
