Menu formats
- Single sheet: A4 or A3, one or two sides. A4 colour R4.00, A3 colour R9.00 per copy (double-sided is twice the rate).
- Folded menu: A4 folded to A5 or A3 folded to A4, for a fuller menu; see brochure printing.
- Table cards and specials boards: small formats for daily specials.
- Event menus: A5 or DL cards on each place setting.
Paper weights and finishes show online. Heavier paper and protective finishes stand up better to handling; prices show online or are quoted.
Planning menu reprints
Keep your menu file in an editable format and update it as soon as prices or dishes change. When a reprint is needed, export a PDF, upload it before 1:00 PM and the eligible menu can be ready the next morning. For a restaurant that opens at lunch, collecting at 8:30 AM in Rivonia leaves time to set tables.
If menus change often, print smaller quantities more frequently on Standard rather than large runs that go out of date.
Artwork pointers
- Check every price twice, including VAT treatment if you display it.
- Use a font size readable in low restaurant lighting.
- Note allergens or dietary symbols consistently.
- Add 3mm bleed for colour that runs to the edge.
- For event menus, check names and dates match the event.
See Artwork Guidelines.
Timing and related print
If tomorrow is not the deadline, slower tiers cost less: Economy is about 5 working days at 10% less, Standard about 3 working days at the listed price, and Express next working day at +20%. Same-day (by 09:00, +30%) and Overnight (by 1:00 PM, +40%) apply to eligible items. Collection is from Shop L23, Rivonia Central, Oriental City Rivonia, or a quoted courier.
Hospitality businesses also order window posters, A-frame posters for the pavement, flyers for promotions and stickers for takeaway packaging. Event caterers often combine menus with wedding stationery.
