What a letterhead includes
- Company name and logo.
- Physical and postal address, phone numbers, email and website.
- Company registration number and VAT number where applicable.
- Directors' names, if your company lists them.
- A footer for compliance details or branch information.
Leave the central area clear for the letter itself, and check how your header and footer look when someone prints a letter on it from a desktop printer.
Options and pricing
Letterheads are usually A4, printed in colour on one side. The approved per-copy rate for A4 colour is R4.00 at the Standard tier, with paper options and quantities shown online when you configure the product. Browse Office Stationery.
Many businesses also keep a digital letterhead template for emailed PDFs. Using the same design for both keeps everything consistent.
Artwork tips
- Set the file to A4 (210 x 297mm) with 3mm bleed if any colour runs to the edge.
- Keep text at least 5mm from the edges.
- Make sure the registration and VAT numbers are correct; these are easy to mistype.
- If letterheads will be fed through an office printer afterwards, avoid heavy ink coverage in the margins.
See Artwork Guidelines.
Timing and the rest of the stationery set
Overnight: order, approved artwork and cleared payment by 1:00 PM on a weekday, ready from 8:30 AM the next working morning at Shop L23, Rivonia Central. If tomorrow is not the deadline, slower tiers cost less: Economy is about 5 working days at 10% less, Standard about 3 working days at the listed price, and Express next working day at +20%. Same-day (by 09:00, +30%) and Overnight (by 1:00 PM, +40%) apply to eligible items.
New businesses usually order letterheads with business cards (500 on 350gsm from R790), NCR invoice books and branded stickers. Ordering them together means one approval and one collection. Letterheads are a classic item to reorder on Economy before you run out.
