Turnaround and cutoffs

This page sets out exactly how our timing works: the five turnaround tiers, the 1:00 PM overnight cutoff, the 09:00 same-day cutoff, what counts as a working day, and the difference between production, collection and delivery.

Lead times and prices

Lead timeProduction timePrice
Economy5 working days-10%
Standard3 working daysListed price
ExpressNext working day+20%
OvernightBy 13:00 Mon–Fri, ready next working morning (eligible items)+40%
Same-dayBy 09:00 Mon–Fri, eligible items only+30%

Production time starts once payment has cleared and your artwork is approved. Delivery is separate.

The five tiers

  • Economy – about 5 working days, 10% less than the listed price.
  • Standard – about 3 working days, at the listed price.
  • Express – next working day, +20%.
  • Overnight – approved, paid and print-ready by 1:00 PM (Mon–Fri), into that night's production, ready the next working morning. +40%, eligible items only.
  • Same-day – eligible items ordered, paid and print-ready by 09:00 (Mon–Fri), +30%.

Same-day is priced high deliberately, because it disrupts the production schedule. Wherever possible, plan ahead and use Standard or Economy.

When the clock starts

All turnaround times count from the moment two things are true: payment has cleared, and artwork is approved. Placing an order, uploading a file or sending an EFT does not start the clock on its own.

  • Card payments through Yoco confirm immediately.
  • EFT payments start the clock only once the money reflects.
  • Orders of R5,000 or more need the 65% deposit to have cleared.
  • Artwork that needs correcting starts the clock once the corrected version is approved.

The 1:00 PM overnight cutoff

Overnight-eligible jobs that meet all the conditions by 1:00 PM, Monday to Friday, are scheduled into that night's run. Jobs that meet the conditions after 1:00 PM go into the next night's run. A job ready by 1:00 PM on Friday is ready on Monday morning.

Overnight is a priority attempt, not a guarantee. The product, the artwork, payment clearing and the volume of work on the night all play a part. If we see a job will not make it, we tell you. More in Understanding the 1 PM Cutoff and Which Products Are Overnight-Eligible.

Working days and public holidays

Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding South African public holidays. We do not produce or hand over orders on weekends or public holidays, and turnaround counts skip them. An Express order paid on a Friday is ready on Monday; around a long weekend, allow for the extra days. See Weekend and Public Holiday Orders.

Production vs collection vs delivery

Turnaround is production time at our Rivonia shop. Collection is possible during trading hours (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Mon–Fri) once we confirm the job is ready. Courier delivery is quoted separately and adds transit time after production. See Delivery and Collection.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I miss the 1:00 PM cutoff?
Your job moves to the next night's overnight run, as long as it is still eligible and the conditions are met. You can also switch to a slower, cheaper tier.
Does an EFT made before 1:00 PM count?
Only if it reflects in our account before 1:00 PM. Card payment through Yoco confirms immediately, so it is the safer choice for overnight jobs.
Are public holidays working days?
No. Production and collection do not happen on weekends or South African public holidays, and turnaround times skip those days.
